Overview

Coco peat is the fine pith left over after coir fibre is extracted from coconut husks. We compress it into blocks for economical shipping; on soaking it loosens back into a light, airy medium that holds moisture at the roots while draining freely.

Key features

  • High water-holding capacity with good aeration for root growth
  • Sieved to a uniform texture — consistent from batch to batch
  • Renewable byproduct of coconut processing

Customization

  • Custom block weights and shrink-wrap branding above MOQ
  • Grow bags, briquettes, and loose-fill options on request

Use cases

Perfect For

Strawberry & Berry Farms

A proven substrate for table-top and greenhouse berry growing — steady moisture at the roots with free drainage, so plants never sit in water.

Hydroponics & Soilless Growing

Low-salt, inert pith works as a drip-fed medium in slabs and grow bags, giving growers full control over the nutrient program.

Nurseries & Seed Starting

Fine, uniform texture makes a reliable base for germination trays, propagation, and potting mixes.

Soil Conditioning

Blended into beds and fields, it loosens heavy earth and improves water retention in sandy soil.

How it’s made

The Production Journey

Step 01

Husk Collection

Coconut husks are sourced from local processing units as a byproduct of coconut de-husking.

Step 02

Pith Extraction & Aging

Husks are defibered to separate the coir fibre, and the leftover pith is aged to reduce natural tannins and phenols.

Step 03

Washing for Low EC

Pith is washed with water to bring down electrical conductivity (EC) — the residual salt from the husk.

Step 04

Buffering (Optional)

Pith can be treated with a calcium solution that displaces the sodium and potassium bound to the fibre.

Step 05

Sun Drying

Washed pith is sun-dried to bring moisture down to a stable, shippable level.

Step 06

Sieving

Dried pith is sieved to remove long fibre and coarse particles, giving a consistent, uniform texture.

Step 07

Compression

Sieved pith is compressed into blocks at a high ratio, reducing shipping volume while preserving expansion capacity on rehydration.

Step 08

QC & Export Packing

Finished blocks pass a final check, then are wrapped, stacked, and loaded for export.

Low Salts, Grower-Ready

Washing — with calcium buffering on request — brings salt levels down to a range safe for sensitive crops, and lab reports (EC, pH) can accompany every shipment.

Checked Before It Ships

Batches are sampled for weight, density, and moisture before packing is cleared, so each container matches the spec sheet you ordered against.
